hi guys in this lesson I'm going to show you how to get an image from the internet and import it into sync ad to create it as a 3d object which you then can easily incorporate into your design whether it be for laser cutting or for 3d printing so the first thing we need to do is we need to find a suitable image so to do that are you going to Google and you have to find an image we want so I'm going to base mine around the Apple logo so I type in Apple logo and what I'm going to do is on the search for a silhouette okay like that and the reason why I'm searching for a silhouette is because it gives you a nice black and white image just like this we don't want an image that's too complicated so that wouldn't work very well this wouldn't work this wouldn't work a photo wouldn't work that wouldn't work what would work is a simple black and white image just like this one here so I'm going to click this one and now let's save this onto my computer so if you're working in the Mac books you can just simply click and drag onto your desktop and that will appear on your top because I'm on the PC I have to right-click and save image as I'm going to go to my desktop I actually have an images folder and I'm going to just create it it's important you name your files because otherwise you won't remember where they are so you click Save now the next part of it is this was saved as a PNG image and Tinkercad needs the file to be an SVG image okay there are different image types there's JPEG TIFF am bitmap but we need it to be Viji let's do that we have to convert the image and again we can use Google to do this so just type in image converter and what pops up and is these websites here and we are particularly interested in the first one image online - convert calm if I can I will put the link to this in the in the link below the YouTube clip so we click that and this is a real simple website - the use we look at the left hand bar here only to go to image converter and we scroll down and we're looking for convert to SVG click that and what we have now is a nice green box here where we can choose files this is where we have to find the file we downloaded initially so I'm going to a desktop go to images and I'm going to go to logo like that click open you can see here that it's uploading the PNG file into here and all I have to now is press start conversion and what it will do is it will convert my image into an SVG file and if I take notes at the bottom here it's appeared in my downloads so it's downloaded it to an SVG file ok which is fine now I can just go back into Tinkercad and I'm just going to go to import here I want to choose the file and I have to find the file in my downloads ok and this is the one Apple logo I click open and this bits important if it's if it's red it says the files too big you'll have to decrease the scale and so here say it's hundred-percent scale which means it's going 225 minutes by 205 millimeters which is quite big so what I can do is I can type in there 50 percent so 5-0 I click and it will reduce it to be a little bit smaller you can reduce the size and think out if you want to but sometimes some images are brought in that are bigger than the workplane so it's have a look at the size and reduce it if you feel that you need to then you click input and what will happen is we'll have the Apple logo appear onto our work plane and what we can do with this is again we can treat it very similar to other shapes in Tinkercad we can increase the thickness we can decrease the thickness we can change the color like that and we can use it to add things too we can take things away from it so there's lots we can do to this image if we wanted to edit it so a very useful lesson of how to import an image into ting CAD so we save the file convert the file to SVG and then import interesting cat ready for us to design with

hey everybody today i'm going to show you how to upload a picture to tinkercad for laser engraving or you can also use this for 3d printing but the first thing you want to do is open up your tinkercad account and create a new design after that i need to go to the internet and find a picture that i like so last time i did the nike sign this time i'm going to do a bicycle so i'm going to type in google search for bicycle bicycle logo let's see what comes up so i need an image that looks kind of like this or like this an image that looks like this it'll work but it'll be a lot harder to work with so i'm going to choose something basic like this one oh i like this one a lot too and this one i like all of them so what you have to do is you have to go to the image and you're going to right click on the image and click on save image ads and then you can save it to your chromebook or your computer so i'm going to type in bicycle logo now make sure it is saved here as a jpeg image so next thing i need to do is i have to convert the file so i'm going to do pick space 2 svg because it has to be an svg so we can upload it so it's he we can use any of these they all work the same free svg converter so first thing i'm going to do is upload a picture and now i need to find that bike i think downloads so sometimes the hardest part of a project is keeping track of your files nope not in there well i guess i have to go back and resave it because i forget where i saved it so i'm going to write save image as click logo and i'm going to make sure i save it under download this time so back on my svg converter i'm going to upload the picture under downloads there it is bike logo it's uploading and then scroll down a little bit and this is the original and this is the one i need to download so download svg so save it again to your computer and i'm going to type in bike svg and then i can save it then i go back to tinkercad and the next part is easy click on import choose a file and there's my bike svg and then click on import and there it is so then i can laser cut that image i can also add text or any other images i want to it have fun
