Comment by Sherwood Eberst

now this part is really cool and that is microstation itself over the years has only has only has had two different stuff dgn formats that's it but if you're an autocad user you probably know you've had quite a few microstation tries to keep up on that or bentley i should say tries to keep up on on it we now have real dwg 2021 into 15.2 um microstation connect edition we also have enhanced the dwg kians we added a lot more autocad commands to microstation because we do realize a lot of folks came from autocad and that's what they're used to they don't want to have to go find where the you know dimension styles are in microstation they just want to key in dim style and have it open up or maybe they're used to a pgp file and they can just key in things so i want to show that to you actually i'm going to open up the um there it is i docked it down here let me pull that up onto the screen we leave it docked if we want it to look a little more like autocad but i'm going to leave it on the middle of the screen so you all can see it is that i mentioned dim style if i put dwg in front of an autocad key in you know like dim style and run it it launches the equivalent in microstation so if you're an autocad user and you're more comfortable talking in terms of that you can preference those type of things with dwg you also might have for years been using an autocad pgp file the pgp file has a lot of shortcut cans and in microstation you can use those in fact you can point microstation to an autocad pgp file which is what i have going on here i can type in aaa and what does that do well if you've been using autocad for a little while you'll know that that aaa launches the measure area tool okay well the equivalent let's put it that way but this is the equivalent in microstation so when i type in slash aaa or i was to type in a for placing an arc or you know ar for array you can see the different tools change or uh cha for chamfer maybe i don't know where it is in microstation you know i don't know what the tool is you know that i need to use on modify look and i don't really see it all i see is that and i just need the chamfer tool so there it is okay again this is from that pgp file and in fact they're part of help uh i think i had it up and running part of help are are enlisted in help or all the supported autocad commands so if you take a look you can see here's the autocad command there's the autocad shortcut and what the corresponding keying in microstation so again if you were to just key in uh slash al or you were to key in dwg a line it will automatically launch this microstation command so there's a whole bunch of them and bentley has enhanced these you know quite a bit okay so not only the pgp file but all the dwg commands as well if you found this video helpful please give it a like if you want to see more such series consider subscribing to our channel thank you and see you next time

have you ever wanted to view configuration variable information but did not want to run a microstation debug you can access detailed configuration information quickly and easily from within microstation and while it would be possible to open the configuration variables dialog locate and verify each desired variable but this would be a tedious process if there were more than just a couple of variables also the microstation configuration variables dialog by default does not show hidden variables as an alternate to running a microstation debug the key in show configuration can provide basic configuration information from within the microstation application this can be used to quickly verify the current value of various configuration variables such as ms under barcell ms underbar dgn liblist msnbar seed files and more to use the show configuration key in from within microstation open the key in window in the drawing workflow this can be done within the ribbon from the home tab in the primary ribbon group by clicking key in opening the key in window from here input the desired key in show configuration and press enter on the keyboard to invoke that key in a text file is generated and displayed within your default text editor extensive configuration information is available including the public variables many of which start with ms underscore that are visible from within microstation along with the hidden variables as well these variables typically start with underbar ustn under bar this file may then be saved if desired to the location of your choosing if you found this video helpful please give it a like if you want to see more such series consider subscribing to our channel thank you and see you next time

Thanks Hank your participation is very much appreciated
