what's going on guys balkan arctic here n in today's video i'm going to be sharing these five awesome tips to improve your renderings in rabbit now the first step is going to be all about advanced render quality settings so we're going to get those advanced settings so perfect so every rendering turns out the way you want it to then we're going to be moving on to rendering lights and I'm just going to share a few tips and tricks to get those night scenes just right then we're going to be moving on to setting up the right size of your rendering so it doesn't take too long to render but when you print it out or when you post it somewhere the quality is going to be just right then we're going to be moving on to perfect lighting with Sun settings and I'm going to be sharing some tips and tricks for setting up your Sun in the right place so you get those perfect shadows the way you want them to and then we're going to be creating some background so the background of your rendering looks right and your building looks like it's at the right place okay but before it get started with that I would just like to ask you to like this tutorial it helps me out a lot and if you haven't already I suggest you subscribe because they make tutorials like this every day and if you want to download any of the project files the time I'm going to be using in this project as well as all of my other Revit project files please check out my patreon first link in the description ok so let's get started okay so let's start off with setting up the render quality settings and checking out all of those advanced render quality settings so here I am in a rabbit and just to start off a render dialog you need to be in a 3d view as I am over here this is a student project and don't worry I'm going to be talking about this project what it's all about and how I've modeled it in one of the future tutorials so to start your rendering rendering setup you can either go here to the View tab and then you search for render or as you can see over here in the parenthesis it says R R so you just double tap that Archy and you're going to get this rendering dialog now here you've got your render button that's when you start rendering but before that let's do the setup first so here for the quality setup settings you see you your quality then instead settings and here you've got to draft medium-high best custom and at it okay so first what's the difference between the quality and the output settings so people and sometimes mismatch these two so for those pixelated renderings when you get when it's just blurry and it doesn't look right you probably have the wrong output settings so you probably have this at screen or something like that so it's two little pixels so everything is pixelated and it doesn't look right so that's that's what this output settings is all about the rendering quality is how much time and effort her Revit puts into rendering to create those those realistic renderings so it's all about shadows reflections all of the materials and how realistic the materials will look like so that's what quality settings is all about so when we go over here draft is really something you're only using to see to check if it looks right on your computer you can use medium for pretty much everything that doesn't have to be picture-perfect and then hi and best is due to get that high-end image but be careful like the difference in rendering between draft and medium is not that high but when you go from medium to high or even best it's going to take a really long time to render one of those so make sure that everything is right at before you choose one of these but of course you can use always custom and it can edit that so you just go here to edit and you start your rendering quality settings dialog and here it currently it's at a custom you can go to draft high medium so as you can see you've got some settings over here but if we go here to custom as you can see now you can change some of the settings so first for the light and material accuracy you can go with simplified or you can go to advanced and then you can go render render by level and then you can go at how much you how long you would like your rendering to be and how long you would like to have the quality and here we've got render by time so you can actually set up the the time to for your rendering so you can see render for two minutes and whatever it does in two minutes I want to have that and then you have this units satisfaction satisfactory and this just means that it will continue rendering until you're happy with it and then you just get stopped so you can just let it go for a few minutes then if you're happy you hit stop or you maybe let it go for another few minutes so that's how you set up this custom rendering setup so you can get your renderings perfect all the time now for most of the stuff I do I prefer using medium or sometimes high if I'm doing like presentation stuff but but that's it I usually don't mess with this custom stuff because in my experience you don't really need it that often now moving on to the next topic which will be rendering at night or rendering lights and what to do to set up the perfect night rendering and as you can see over here I'm in Revit and I've just I'm in a progress of rendering this I guess you would call it a cafe exterior rendering and I just want to show you what this looks like so this is now setup at the best and I've actually set it set up the image size the quality down so it's a bit blurry but the rendering quality is set at the best now as you can see here I've got these lights that are on this upper construction and they're giving you kind of these these rings light rings on the on the floor so when you look at these light rings they're actually quite fine and circular and if I take this image that I rendered earlier and this is this is actually what I used for the presentation of this project is you can see when we look at this this is soft and round and here it's kind of straight edges and it's very angular and it's not soft at all so that's the main difference I think this was a render it medium or perhaps even high but I think it was at medium so this is what it looks like at medium and this is what it looks like at high so it's just going to be a bit softer a bit softer a bit more realistic and just a tad bit better as far as all of the lighting reflections and how light looks when it's on on some material and stuff like that okay so let me move this image out of the way and let me stop this rendering so yeah stop that and one more thing that you need to be careful when rendering lights you need to make sure you set up the lights at perfect intensity so if I just select this light and go into edit family I need to go in and just go here to the to the family types dialog and open that up so let me just open that up and here as you can see we've got the color so here is where you set up your light color so if you go at a higher number than 4000 it's going to be white and if you go below that it's going to be one of those yellow lights and here you can set up the act

hello this is the Balkan architect into dealt or teach you how to create a rendering in Revit so here I've got this camera view pointing at my building and you may notice the street it looks kind of too close but that's in order to create depth in your render engine you need to have this building that's in the distance and something that's close and that creates depth now too in order to see what size of your rendering you will have you need to select this crop size and you go here crop size and you can see your weight and your height now this is in millimeters if you're using inches you will have it in inches so now you can see field of view but you need to select scale in order to change this rendering and keep the proportion so now I can change this number but this number will change accordingly so if I go 500 and I go apply you see the height changes accordingly now I will go cancel I will undo that now we'll zoom in I have changed this maybe it's better to hear it in hidden line and now we need to render so now you go to view and you have here render the shortcut is RR you can render in cloud but I don't like it cause then CIA knows what your building looks like just kidding so I will hit RR for shortcut for rendering here with that it is a render window we will get this render button up here we'll hit that later first we need to setup quality so I usually go with high this quality doesn't mean the density of the pixels this just means how will the computer calculate all the shadows and reflections and the higher you go over here there will be more reflections in everything but I think high is as high as you should go anything more than that flows down the rendering needlessly now resolution you can go to screen or to painter I want to print this oil go here and I can go 300 pixels per inch and I go width and height that determined by that crop size that we did a bit earlier now we've got here what kind of lighting we have we are only using Sun we don't have artificial lighting so we'll go Sun only sound settings is you need to set up what time of day is it now this is sunlight from top laughs this is the simplest one and that's when you select lighting which you can go to steel and then you can go summer solstice winter solstice you can choose different lighting types this is basically the position of the Sun but I need like to go sunlight from top left when you check here lighting and you can set up the exact position of the Sun using this here degrees but I will go apply okay now here we've got background that is what will appear behind our building you can have no cloud few clouds very few if you close very few clouds cloudy very cloudy this is if you're creating some rendering the to Thea rain or I don't know or you can go color and you can decide what color you can do if you go with this green then you can later in post-production you can select just the green and use it as a green-screen basically to put whatever image you want in the background but I will go cancel and I will go with few clouds that I found out looks best and here we have adjust exposure now I recommend you don't change this in the beginning because you can change this once you've already made your rendering so I will go cancel and once everything is set up I will hit render now because we don't want to wait for this rendering to be over I will cancel it I will go stop and do you want you are you sure yes I'm sure so I will go escape it's not important but you basically get an image that looks like this and then with just a little post-production in Photoshop you can get it looking like this and when you finish your renderings they will appear here on the rendering step in your project browser if you open it up here we've got rendering and that's basically how you create a render in Revit thank you for watching subscribe for more videos and have a nice day
