a view would normally show everything to its extent so if you have this particular view and you'd want to place this in a sheet you can go and click this sheet let's say new sheet and see the project always say when prompted to that's 30 24 by 36 sheet okay and let's drag a copy of that to you let's say the second floor plan here okay so that box is the extent of the drawing if I click here you see that it's showing everything within the limits of that drawing so if you don't want to show all and maybe just show the floorplan and not the property line you can go back to your view or maybe here double click and make sure you don't have anything selected then you can turn on your extents crop view so it's currently not cutting anything hey that's why everything is visible so if you turn crop v1 or if you turn crop deal it will now be able to crop out some of the parts of the drawing now if you want to see the crop box itself you need to turn crop region visible okay so there's your crop region and now you can limit what you are going to see for this view so crap view enables you to crop the extents of the view crop regions allow you to see the box crop box so if you turn cup view on or off if you turn this off you can still see the crop region so crap region is visible but it does not crop the V okay so they are independent this enables the effectivity or functionality of this crop box while the crop region visible allows you to see where it is you do have a button here for that function so you have your do not crop view so that's the crop view and this is the height crop region or crop region visible and so you can access it from here as well now since you have that turned on notice that if I double click outside you're now able to just limit what you are viewing and then you can of course move this and adjust its location say over here and to adjust the line I need to click the box the crop region and use the grip to adjust the size of that line now if you don't want to see the crop region of course you can double click inside oops lutely inside and turn crop region peaceable off

Thanks for your comment Tatyana Gravit, have a nice day.

hey what's up everyone in this video I'm going to go over how I use a scope box to get a consistent crop region on my plant views I like to have a consistent crop region on my plan views for a couple of reasons the first reason is that it helps clean up random flooding graphics from linked Revit models the second reason I like to have a consistent crop region is it it will help me to precisely locate plan views on sheets here I have my structural Revit model already open when i zoom extents on my foundation plan view the plan view doesn't Center on the screen I can see that on the bottom-right hand that there are some floating graphics on the linked Revit model that is preventing my plan view from being centered on the screen so I'm gonna check the second floor framing plan here and i zoom extends and I see that this has some graphical issues as well checking roof framing plan now and when i zoom extents there's no issues there I'm going to my lowest level to set up my scope box so that will be my foundation plan view I go to the View tab and select the scope box option there are a couple of scope box options when you are in the command you can give the scope box a name and specify a height I'll leave those as a default values I'm going to draw out the scope box to capture only the graphics that I want to see I have to create a scope box there are a couple of scope properties I can modify there's the view visible property that lets me modify the automatic visibility on existing views as well as the override graphics for the scope box I typically leave these options on their default States the other property is the name of the scope bonds I like to name my scope boxes so this one I will rename to crop boundary now I'm going to toggle on the crop region by hitting the show crop region button when i zoom extends the black solid line that is now visible is the current size of the crop region to bind the crop region to the scope box I go to the properties window go to the scope box area and select my name scope box now when i zoom extends the plant view is centered on my screen and I'm going to do the same process for my other views you if I want to modify the crop region of the view I have to unlink the scope ox from the crop region by setting the scope box property to none to modify the scope box I drag the grip that becomes available when I select the scope box and drag it to the new location then I relink the scope box to the crop region by selecting the scope box name on the scope box property the cool thing about this is that the crop region will automatically modify across all my plan views so I don't need to manually adjust the crop region for each view and that is gonna wrap up this video if you found this video helpful please like subscribe and share

Thanks lipsoncered8 your participation is very much appreciated
