How to check autodesk desktop connector version

Comment by Junita Lockner

that is the desktop connector so this is a technology once you join up with a fusion team hub desktop connector is a utility that installs and it runs and it appears right down inside of your tray and what this does is gives you access from Windows Explorer to the cloud much like similar to if you have a onedrive or you have box today or Dropbox anything you throw in a folder it's like a watch folder the advantage here though this is cat aware so if you put in an an AutoCAD design and it has xrefs it's cool the desktop connector sees it and seizes uses where use and it uploads all that and maintains that roll it file relationship so you're not going to miss any files and that kind of drop any xrefs likewise with an inventor design we have drawings assemblies sub assemblies parts all of that desktop connector understands that it knows that so when it uploads to fusion team we have the uses that we're use the parent children grandparents grandkids everything this utility once you join up a fusion team if you go to your avatar and you scroll all the way down to the bottom there's a button down there to install it there's other places like on Autodesk knowledge network to get this but simply you you go and install it installs into Windows run through the install then you sign in with your Autodesk ID and before you know it you can go and refresh the drives and you'll see all the different hubs and like I said this is all the different hubs that I have access to so I can go in and out of these I can go right click open if launches browser of my choice and I'm there so it's a very easy way to work if you've been using box Dropbox onedrive think that but it's so much better because you get actual CAD cad relationship knowledge so so that's desktop connector and fusion team those two go hand-in-hand as mentioned you might have access to it already if not please check out the extended use program

hello my name is Adam Peter and I'm a customer success engineer here at Autodesk today I want to show you a great new utility available to BIM 360 team in collaboration for Revit subscribers called desktop connector in order to install it you can simply log into your BIM 360 team hub click on your profile and select the link for desktop connector for BIM 360 once installed you will find this utility helpful for a number of workflows when working on your collaboration for Revit project first notice there are a number of Revit files in this project however one of the files is not using collaboration for Revit rather someone uploaded this model through the web client historically we would not be able to reference this model until we downloaded it opened the local model and initiated it to the collaboration for Reavis service however with desktop connector we can now browse our BIM 360 team project and reference it directly also note that we can reference other file types as well such as DWG s @ DW FS and more we can also save files to our BIM 360 team project from any application for example from Sketchup or we can simply drag and drop files from one location to another in Windows Explorer even creating new folders this of course opens the doors for many opportunities to access new data in projects truly creating a single source of truth for all project data I hope you enjoy using this great new utility and thanks for watching

Thanks costejaviA your participation is very much appreciated
