In the Knowledge toolbar, select the Formula icon. In the New Parameter of type pull-down list, select Curve, then click the New Parameter of type button. Ensure that the created parameter Curve. 1 is highlighted in the list of parameters and click the Add Formula button.

Click the icon to add a new parameter in the created parameter set. The Parameter Explorer dialog box is displayed. In the specification tree, select the Parameter Set you want to add a parameter to. The name of the parameter set is displayed in the Feature field of the Parameter Explorer dialog box.

- Select the KwrStartDocument item in the specification tree.
- Access the Knowledge Advisor workbench from the Start>Knowledgeware menu.
- Click the rule icon.
- Replace the Rule.
- Type the code below into the edition box or copy/paste it from your browser to the edition box.
- Click Apply .

- Double-click the parameter in the specification tree. The Edit Parameter window is displayed.
- Right-click the value field of the window, and select Update Values . The Value List window is displayed.
- Edit the values and click OK when done.

In the Knowledge toolbar, select the Formula icon. In the New Parameter of type pull-down lists, select Length and Multiple Values, then click the New Parameter of type button. In the Value list dialog box, enter the standard thickness values, and click OK to return to the Formulas dialog box.

In Parametric Modelling, the Parameters which user creates for controlling the dimensions and features are called User Parameters. Formulas. Formulas are the relations between different geometrical entities and parameters.

Driving Dimensions Go to Tools > Options> Mechanical Design > Drafting , Dimension tab, and activate the Create driving dimension option. Create and/or modify the desired dimension on the geometry. If needed, you can use the Tools Palette and define the Value of the dimension you want to be driving.

Knowledgeware is a group of techniques that you can use to control parameters based on your knowledge of the model and its intended application. Incorporating Knowledgeware into model and analysis parameters allows other users to work with the model more effectively.

Since then, the parametric paradigm has been employed in almost every mainstream CAD program, including SOLIDWORKS, Autodesk Inventor, Creo Parametric, CATIA, NX, and Onshape. If you've done any CAD modeling in the past two decades, chances are you're familiar with history-based parametric design.

Parametric modeling is an approach to 3D CAD in which you capture design intent using features and constraints, and this allows users to automate repetitive changes, such as those found in families of product parts.

What do you mean by ISO-Constraints in CATIA? If all degrees of freedom of CATIA geometry have been arrested by a consistent combination of dimensions & fixed geometry, it is said to be ISO-CONSTRAINED. CATIA Sketcher geometry that still has some degrees of freedom is said to be UNDER constrained.

- Click Annotate tab Dimensions panel Linear. Find.
- Specify the first and second extension line origin.
- At the prompt, enter r (Rotated).
- Enter an angle for the dimension line.
- Click to place the dimension line.

To create a dimension in your own schema, you must have the CREATE DIMENSION system privilege. To create a dimension in another user's schema, you must have the CREATE ANY DIMENSION system privilege. In either case, you must have the SELECT object privilege on any objects referenced in the dimension.

Parametric modeling is a modeling process with the ability to change the shape of model geometry as soon as the dimension value is modified. Parametric modeling is implemented through the design computer programming code such as a script to define the dimension and the shape of the model.

To edit the table click â€œEdit Tableâ€ in the bottom left hand corner of the dialog box; the design table will open as an Excel spreadsheet. 8. Insert the values in each row to add different design options.

Parametric modelling gets its name from the fact that the 3D model is defined by parameters. A change in a dimension at any point in the design process changes the geometry of the model.

hi friends this is mama Shaquille here and today I'm going to show you how you can work with formulas and parameters in the CATIA v5 software so to explain you I'm going to open up the part design workbench and in the part design workbench I'm going to get inside the sketcher so once you're inside the sketcher to understand how the formula is related you can draw to the constant Rick circles all right and you can actually come out of the sketch and you can do a padding if you want so that's that doesn't really matter so I've done till this much because I need to show the scope of this because I need to show you that one even if you have creative feature you can come back and you can always work on the formulas so once you're over here now we can apply a formula or relation between the inner circle and the outer circle so how you can do that you can go to the formula so before doing that you need to have a particular dimension for this both of them so you can for 150 now let's just go to the formula and in the formula just click on any of the dimensions so I'm going to click over here you can see that nothing is selected over here so once I just click over here it directly points out to the radius over here so now I'm going to change it to our o because you know our I because it is a inner radius so the inner radius of the circle is 25 so just click on the apply and select the outer radius and just specify that this is our oh this renaming is done because it will really help you to you know finally give the relations when you're working on video files so just always make a habit of you know renaming it so that you can always give the relation very easily you just give on ro and apply so let's just go ahead and add the formula for arrow you can eat it either at the formula for ro or RI so as you know that RI is half of our oh that is radius of the inner is half of the radius of the outer if that's what the formula which you are thinking of giving so just go ahead and apply the formula for ro so ro is equal to our eye x 2 so if you are giving this for our eye it should have been ro / 2 so just go ahead and click on okay so once you once you have done that you can see some effects have come between or you know very near to the 300 so that really implies that other dimension is actually driven by a formula right now just go ahead and click OK and let's see the difference or the changes that this formula is making in our drawing now so let me just go ahead and put a diameter of say hundred so you can really see that the it's actually driving this this actually drives this one so you can this this one will be you know uneditable because this is actually driven by this particular diameter here so let's just go ahead and exit the sketch and you can see our part is actually over here now I need to show you some more scopes of this design so I'm going to show you in the next part of this tutorial series and this is it for this particular part and I hope you enjoy this tutorial and I hope this tutorial is going to help you in your design projects and design craters thank you so much for watching and let me know if you are facing any problems or any clarifications you have please feel free to comment on my video and please feel free to contact me and you can always write to me at CIT IKR dot product user cata or PR o dot user gmail.com and thank you so much for watching all
