  2. For each component, you have to create a footprint.
  3. You have to create a schematic view of your board.
  4. Once you have the schematic, you have to generate the netlist and import it to Allegro PCB Editor to complete the board layout.

Is Allegro the same as OrCAD?

Allegro and OrCAD are two popular electrical design tools produced by the same company — Cadence. OrCAD is known as the most popular schematic capture tool in the Cadence suite, while Allegro is Cadence's flagship PCB layout tool.

On the right side of the dialog, right-click on the footprint to add in the upper right View and Edit Footprints pane, then select Add to all parts, see the image below. If there is more than one footprint configured for a component, right-click on the footprint you wish to use and select Set as Current.

What is footprint in PCB?

In PCB design, a footprint is a pattern for an electronic component that will eventually be soldered there. Whether it is a through-hole connector, a surface mount capacitor, or a large ball grid array (BGA), every part that gets soldered onto or into a printed circuit board needs a footprint.

What cadence should I cycle at?

Generally, a good cadence in cycling is between 80-100 rpm. Beginner cyclists often pedal rather slowly, around 60-85 rpm. Racers and more experienced hobbyists usually average between 75-95 rpm, and pros can sustain over 100 rpm during attacks or more than 110 rpm during sprints.

okay this how-to video is going to describe how to assign a function key or an alias key to do a command for you inside PCB editor so at the moment if we're in the placement application mode and I wanted to to maybe rotate this switch I select the switch and then I effectively do a right mouse button rotate and then might rotate the component around at different angles but if I want to do a sign the shortcut key for that I need to kind of type something or set this up so what I need to do first is type something at the command line so if I go to the Komodo on this one PCB editor I could type script mode + E and what that does is that enables any command that I do to be reported back to the command line so if I was to do the same command this time and then do a rotate so you'll see that the command rotate comes up and I can rotate this at one location and it will say the command is eye angle 90 so that kind of gives me an idea of what what the command line is going to be so I then assigned a key to that so I can do funky R for example and then I angle and this time I'm going to put in 45 degrees that then assigns R to do that command for me so once that's there I pick the command up and I press the art and the component will then rotate at 45 degrees for me so that's the point of doing a locate locate locally inside them the command line is that's only going to affect this current design file so what I would need to do is exit out of this and then if we go to the PCB env folder it's normally set up in your home location so if you went to order to find that it's right click on the computer properties advanced system settings and then environment variables now we're looking for an environment variable called home the default one is seat : sv be underscored data mines called c code i'm working so that tells me where the home variable is i can then go to that directory on windows explorer and there's the PCB EMV folder and in here is the the EMV file which we can just send to WordPad notepad any text letters that you like now this is obviously a user preferences section we want to make sure we go above this section so to add a funky I'm going to effectively type in the same command so it's funky our my angle 45 that then sets it up so every time my PC editor window starts it's going to use this as there's the setup so we'll go back to PC editor or launch AutoCAD let's just go and open a different board place our application mode pick the switch and then press the are key to rotate the switch that concludes this

Thanks Ellis your participation is very much appreciated
