The latest BOXX workstations feature Intel's new Xeon 5600 processors, which deliver huge gains in performance (complex tasks, like 3D rendering, can be performed up to 50% faster) while reducing power consumption.

The Xeon 5600 processors feature hyper-threading, meaning that, in optimised conditions, applications can use double the cores - effectively turning your six-core machine into a twelve-core one.

These processors feature Turbo Boost, which lets you redirect power to one or more cores to speed up a particular task, including legacy applications. They also resource power away from the cores you don't use, leading to power savings of up to 30%.

If you deal with large files on a regular basis, it's worth noting that the Xeon 5600 series can address up to 288GB of memory, with no memory ceiling for 64-bit applications.

BOXX 3D Workstations feature up to two Intel 5600 series processors, meaning they can handle up to 24 simultaneous threads.
